Mothers of Boys Survival Guide

Join Suzy for a Virtual MOB Book Club

Wednesday, November 18 | 8–9 PM ET | Google Meet

Grab your copy of Mothers of Boys Survival Guide and join author Suzy Shaw and a small group of fellow Mothers of Boys (MOB) for an informal, honest—and probably funny—conversation about raising boys.

We’ll talk about the stories in the book, share some of our own, and compare notes from the trenches. Whether your boys are little, teenagers, grown and flown, or somewhere in between, you’re welcome at the table.

Space is limited to 20 participants, so reserve your spot early.

The Inspiration Behind the Book

Social media grew up alongside Suzy’s parenting journey, bringing both curiosity and caution as she raised her Gen Z boys. Watching its impact—comparison, pressure, and self-doubt—she began writing real-life stories from the trenches of motherhood.

This book isn’t a perfect guide—it’s like getting your older sister’s playbook: honest, funny, and practical. It’s part of a bigger mission—the Mothers of Boys Survival Guide book, podcast, and community—offering real support for moms raising boys.

Welcome to the MOB (Mothers of Boys).

Why This Book Works for Book Clubs

Son gets confidence with the help of "math glasses"

This is the kind of book that gets people talking.

Mothers of Boys Survival Guide blends humor, personal storytelling, and thoughtful reflection on modern motherhood. It opens the door to conversations about identity, expectations, family dynamics, technology, resilience, and what boys really need from us as they grow.

Book clubs love it because it is:

  • relatable and easy to discuss
  • funny without being fluffy
  • honest about the challenges of parenting
  • full of stories that spark personal reflection
  • grounded in real life, not perfection
